SUMMARY:Making Peace with Your Life
DESCRIPTION:You undertake end-of-life planning so your loved ones will not have to make decisions for you\, which may be different than the decisions you would make.  At the end of this course\, you will walk away feeling lighter having undertaken this journey of making peace with your life. \nUsing our workbook\, Peace & Grace at the End\, we offer a 6-session course over 3 months.  We will show you how to get all your affairs in order.  Each class will have step-by-step instructions and worksheets\, and support is provided between classes. The first class asks the question who are you doing this for? Why is this work important? The second class looks at your values\, how are you living\, and who are you.  The third class discusses all the paperwork and information to be pulled together. In the fourth class\, we look at illness and accidents\, what does it mean\, where do you want to be\, and your advance directive.  The fifth class focuses on after death – now what? The last class is about your legacy. \nThis course will meet every three weeks beginning August 22\, 2026: August 22\, September 5\, September 19\, October 3\, October 17\, and October 31. \nFor more information\, please call or email me.

DESCRIPTION:During my many years of practice helping those with substance abuse and addiction challenges and now as a death doula\, a common thread emerged: the need to make peace with your life. People in recovery learn to live with guilt and trauma from previous life and accept where they are now. Much forgiveness is involved in this process. Similarly\, the ability to accept your past and make peace with your life will help those near the end of life. \nIn this talk\, those in recovery and in social services will learn more about the work of a Death Doula from the perspective of a therapist\, and the relationship with substance abuse and addiction recovery. \nThis is a closed event. Participation is by invitation only.
