The Work of a Death Doula

Loading Events

During my many years of practice helping those with substance abuse and addiction challenges and now as a death doula, a common thread emerged: the need to make peace with your life. People in recovery learn to live with guilt and trauma from previous life and accept where they are now. Much forgiveness is involved in this process. Similarly, the ability to accept your past and make peace with your life will help those near the end of life.

In this talk, those in recovery and in social services will learn more about the work of a Death Doula from the perspective of a therapist, and the relationship with substance abuse and addiction recovery.
