About Us
Death Doulas
Death is a transition. Death Doulas have facilitated this transition for both the dying and those left behind since ancient times.
The role of a Death Doula is to trust that the person dying knows how to die (perhaps unconsciously), and support the family in honoring their loved one.
A Death Doula’s commitment is to support and honor the wishes of a dying individual in this difficult life experience.
Death Doulas embrace compassion, deep listening, healthy boundaries, intuition, clear communication, awareness of emotions, and respect of the individual’s wishes. They are curious, develop cooperative relationships with people and explore the Unknown. To work with a Death Doula is to discover an awareness of how love emerges.
OUR COMPANY
Peace & Grace at the End, LLC

Peace & Grace at the End was founded to guide individuals and families through the myriad of issues that shape and define “end of life”. We are certified Death Doula professionals. Our organization was founded by two liked-minded souls, Pat Bardenett and Leighton Clark.
Our approach has been honed through decades of social work and counseling services, and is grounded in sensitivity and caring collaborations.
Our goal? Help the Death Process be less Ominous
We offer services ranging from organizational skills for putting one’s affairs in order, to providing education and understanding about death. It is our belief, that being fully prepared for death, allows more “space to live.” Our work decreases the pain of dying and increases the meaning of death.
Our clients range from aging “boomers”, to those of any age, who by putting their own affairs in order, takes the weight off their children and heirs to try and discern their wishes.
Simple things, like end-of-life paperwork, disbursement of tangible items, spiritual resolutions, and the deeply compassionate desire of most people to die at home are some of what we offer.
We bring warmth, kindness and empathy to end of life issues. Peace & Grace at the End considers it an honor to be with and sit with someone as they leave this life. To have gotten to know them and bear witness to their wishes, hear their stories, create their legacies and honor their last wishes are what we do best.
As end-of-life planners, we understand it is critical to cultivate a relationship with our own death; otherwise, it is most difficult to serve others. We continue to address directly our death issues and share our experiences.
Our work stems from love and service. We educate individuals, families, and groups on the process of dying. We are a “patient advocate” for the loved ones we serve, and are acting on their behalf.
We honor the recognized HIPPA Policy and thus treat all your information in strict confidence.
